Brandon Hutchins
Brandon Hutchins has been the president and CEO of Gaskins Surveying and Engineering Company since 2006, and owner since purchasing the company from Johnny Gaskins in 2010. Joining the Gaskins team in 2000 as Director of Operations after working as a Senior Consultant for Ernst & Young, Brandon used his unique set of consulting experiences to improve many facets of the business. Implementing processes, developing organizational clarity and structure and setting up many systems, Brandon transformed a entrepreneurial company into a growth oriented, professional firm. In 2002, he was promoted to COO and has since managed the operational components of Gaskins.
Born in Marietta, Brandon graduated from McEachern High School as valedictorian. He went on to the Georgia Institute of Technology, graduating with honors from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Industrial Engineering. During summers in high school and college Brandon worked on surveying crews for Johnny. Brandon played baseball for Georgia Tech, and was part of the team that was runner up in the 1994 College World Series.
Heavily involved in the Marietta community, Brandon helped launch Stonebridge church, served as founding co-leader of ministry called "Marietta Workmatters", leads and participates in several small groups aimed at encouraging and equipping business leaders, is involved in the Cobb County Development Ordinance Re-write Committee, and was named one of "Cobb County's Top 20 under 40" in Cobb Life Magazine in 2009. Brandon is a board member of LCAA (secretary, 2011), is a Cobb Advisory Member of the Council for Quality Growth, 2011 Cobb Development Ordinance Review Committee, and is a member of both the Cobb and Paulding county Chambers of Commerce.
Chuck Davis
Chuck Davis is a General Manager at Gaskins and has been a member of the Gaskins team since April 2011. Previously, Chuck was the Deputy Director of Public Works and the Stormwater Engineer for the City of Dunwoody. His prior experience includes the design and management of numerous projects in his positions as engineer and project manager for various engineering firms and local land development companies. Chuck received a B.S. in Civil Engineering Technology from Southern Polytechnic State University and utilizes his more than 18 years of engineering and construction management experience to specialize in hydrologic modeling, roadway design, erosion control, and infrastructure design.
David Massey
David Massey joined Gaskins in 1984 and is a Project Manager in the engineering department, overseeing a team of professional engineers and engineers-in-training. He has been registered as a Licensed Surveyor in Georgia since 1989 and as a Professional Engineer since 1997. David earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a B.S. in Civil Engineering Technology from the Southern Technical Institute. David has more than 27 years of Engineering and Surveying experience, specializing in the design of multi-phase, multi-use development, engineering management, roadway design, erosion control, and infrastructure design.
Chris Evans
Chris Evans has been part of the Gaskins team since 1991 and is a Survey Manager at Gaskins. He has been a registered Licensed Surveyor since 1999, managing hundreds of projects ranging from less than one acre to more than 2700 lot subdivisions in size. Chris received a B.S. in Surveying and Mapping from Southern Polytechnic Institute and specializes in single and multi-family residential subdivisions, project management, corridor and boundary surveys, construction staking, commercial, municipal, and private sanitary sewer lift stations, and municipal and private sanitary sewer outfalls. Additionally, his more than 19 years of surveying has given Chris vast experience in field topography, closings, ALTA surveys, ground control, as-builts, flood certificates, renovation projects, roads, and wetland location.
Scott Reece
Scott Reece is a Survey Manager at Gaskins and has been part of the Gaskins team since 2006. Previously, Scott owned and operated Reece Land Surveying before merging operations with Gaskins in 2006. He received a B.S. in Civil Engineering Technology from Polytechnic State University and has been registered as a Licensed Surveyor in Georgia since 1994 as well as a Professional Surveyor in Alabama since 2009. Scott has more than 21 years of surveying experience and specializes in project management, ALTA surveys, boundary, corridor, and topographic surveys, construction staking, and FEMA elevation certification. Dean Olson
Dean Olson is a Surveying Manager at Gaskins and joined the Gaskins team in 2011. With more than 28 years of experience in the land surveying industry, Dean has been a Professional Land Surveyor in the state of Georgia since 1999 and in Alabama since 2006. He studied land surveying at Southern Polytechnic State University and his responsibilities have ranged between an entry level surveying position to Professional Land Surveyor and business owner. Dean has served as president of the Surveying and Mapping Society of Georgia (2006-2007) as well as president of the Rotary Club of Paulding County (2010-2011).
Bruce Smith
Bruce Smith joined Gaskins in July of 2011 as General Manager. Born and raised in Longview, Texas, he graduated from Texas A&M University in 1969 and spent his next five years serving in the United States Air Force as a pilot. After leaving the Air Force, he used the experience he gained from the family building business to start working for Fox & Jacobs, a large homebuilder in Dallas, Texas. Bruce moved to Atlanta in 1982 to become the President of the Atlanta Division of the Arvida Company. After 11 years with Arvida Bruce joined Cousins Properties, a NYSE company, in 1993 as President of their Land Division, a position he held for over 16 years. Over the past years he has been active in Urban Land Institute, Hospice, and YMCA. He is married with two sons and two grandsons.
Jonathan Jones
Jonathan Jones joined Gaskins in October of 2011 as Director of Sales and Marketing. Jonathan graduated with a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and has a Professional Engineer license in both Georgia and Alabama. He has been in Civil Engineering for the last 16 years and has designed all aspects of a project relating to Industrial parks, residential subdivisions, and commercial facilities. Jonathan also has experience in project management, having completed budgets and bids for projects ranging from fifty-thousand to two million dollars. Prior to joining Gaskins, Jonathan owned Elite Engineering for over 10 years.
