Success Built from the Start

Industrial development requires specialized knowledge of site preparation and environmental considerations. Gaskins has the skills and personnel required for exceptional productivity.

Prior to the preparation of any plans, our staff carefully studies the requirements of an industrial site. Fully understanding those needs is key to providing practical design solutions. We can identify the need for specific equipment or the essential processes related to the industry’s function, and strive to create a sensible end product.

Example
Projects

Baxter Program

Covington, Walton/Newton County GA
The project included the site work and the building construction of a 565,000 square foot building on 120 acres. Gaskins performed construction staking for grading and site utilities, as-built topographic survey, establishing site control for concrete preform layout, the layout of column lines, marking the location of anchor bolts, providing as-builts for the location of anchor bolts, and checking columns for vertical alignment.

Colonial LF

Sorrento, LA
Gaskins provided supportive services to Terracon for this 120-acre municipal landfill in Sorrento, LA. Supporting services included stormwater layout, surface grading plans, hydraulic capacity evaluations, construction grade verifications, and phasing plans.

Colonial Pipeline Company

Atlanta Junction, Powder Springs, GA
The project consisted of the installation of two 120′ diameter by 48′ high, one 134′ diameter by 48′ high, and one 140′ diameter by 48′ high fuel tanks. After the tanks were built, water was added daily until full. Gaskins recorded the elevation of 15 points, within 0.01″ accuracy, circling the tanks every day for 3 months to monitor the settlement rate of each tank.

PLANT McDONOUGH

This is a 315-acre site owned by Georgia Power on the north side of the Chattahoochee River at the northwest portion of Atlanta and has the 2nd largest energy capacity of any plant owned by Georgia Power in Georgia. Gaskins provides surveying services for Plant McDonough (via numerous different contractors) on several projects, including staking of natural gas turbine Units 4, 5 and 6; staking of coal ash pond closure for ponds 1 and 2; various haul road construction projects and building construction projects.
